Often, our patients want liposuction, abdominoplasty, or breast lift before they get rid of excess weight. This is an incorrect order. They are able to get rid of excessive weight with a surgically supported weight loss program. After reaching the desired weight, we can perform body contouring and excess skin removal.
Those who have significant excess weight, we can help with reducing the size of the stomach by surgically converting the gastrointestinal tract.
After stomach bypass surgery, the reduced gastric volume and the converted digestive tract help to eat much less, and on the other hand less nutrients will be absorbed in the body – so the amount of calorie intake will be reduced to a fraction of it.
The term “gastric sleeve” refers to the removal of a significant part of the stomach (at least half of it), resulting in a tubular form. With laparoscopy, only tiny incisions are needed because the surgeon watches the surgical area through the camera.
