Face Lift

Your Face Is The Mirror Of Your Soul

Satisfaction, happiness and joy shows on it, just as suffering and sorrow. During the years, every good and bad experiences leave deep marks on the face due to the environmental effects, stress. All of your successes and even failures are drawn there clearly.

The face may seem older than its actual age, or simply just dissatisfied, tired and grouchy. Aging of the skin of the face and neck causes wrinkling and loss of elasticity, which might lead to psychological or aesthetic concerns.

Wrinkles of the forehead, nose and those around the lips become deeper and deeper. The skin droops even more around and under the chin. Solar radiation, passing time and everyday stress also affect the skin of the face.

This is the natural aging process of the skin. Gravity causes the deeper layers under the facial skin (muscles and fat) to sag. Noninvasive treatments, such as light therapy, fillers or laser no longer produce a satisfactory solution.

Face Lift handle these problems with fat removal, skin and muscle tightening, and the excision of excess skin for a fresher, more youthful and pleasant appearance. If the neck or face skin visibly sags, there is only one reasonable solution with long-term results: Face Lift surgery.

What Happens During A Facelift? What Are The Results?

We insert back the sagging layers of the face one by one into position through a small incision made in the scalp and next to the ears. These operations are tailored to the patient’s individual needs, and mean relatively low risk with beautiful results. Our goal is to keep the patient’s original, natural expression to give them a non-artificial, younger, fresher and more relaxed face.

Who Is An Ideal Patient For Face Lift?

Face Lift is recommended for all who want younger looking, firmer skin with a spectacular improvement. There is no upper age limit, but good general health is important.

Drooping eyelids, corners of the mouth and cheeks make people seem tired or even angry as a common problem. Surprisingly, this phenomenon occurs most frequently among vigorous, lovable, happy people. The so-called turkey neck and swollen pouches also disrupt the original harmony of the face.

Certain diseases (e.g.: diabetes or hypertension) jeopardize the success of the surgery and complications may occur more easily. Smoking is also dangerous, so the surgery can take place only if the patient abstains.

About The Surgery

Facelift at Dr. Pataki’s clinic might not be the cheapest, but the best results are guaranteed thanks to the most advanced plastic surgery techniques.

Face Lift exists in two forms. One is the character-changing and transforming type, and the other is the rejuvenation of the aging face.

Full Face Lift covers the entire face and neck area, but anti-wrinkle surgery can be performed on the top of the face (Temple Lift), neck (Neck Lift), or as a stand-alone operation on the forehead as well.

Each procedure can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. The latter means a bit more discomfort since the entire surgical area to be injected.

The surgery requires long, careful preparations. Depending on the technique and the required degree of corrections a Face Lift can take from 2 hours to more than 4.

Incisions are generally made in barely visible areas: above the hairline at the temples, in front of the ears, then behind the ears, and finally above the hairline again on the nape. We dissect the skin from the cheeks to the nasolabial folds, the side of the jaws, and under and behind the ears.

After this dissection, we have access to the connective tissue layer that needs to be tightened, or or depending on the situation we remove the excess. With a slight tension we can see the amount has to be removed, then comes the straightening of the edges. Excess fat often occurs under the chin – in such cases, Liposuction is used.

Our task is similar to Forehead Lift: incisions are made on the hairy scalp to remove excess skin in order to achieve the desired results. We seal the wounds with double-layer subcuticular running closure, then place a tight bandage on it.

The scars fit into the natural form of the face, so they are barely visible. Just the one in front of the ear will be visible, but it is located in the inner part of the ear cartilage, thus not disturbing as a thread-thin white line.

After Face Lift Surgery

Complete recovery after facelift takes one or a few weeks depending on the individual. Due to the fact that the face has the best blood flow of the whole body, the wound heals well and quickly.

Patients must wear a special elastic bandage or mask following a Face Lift. After the 7th or 8th day this is no longer necessary, and washing hair is allowed. Last stitches to removed on day 10-14., and beauty products can be used.

Given that the facial plastic surgery involves a large surface, discoloration and swelling may occur, what you should be prepared for. Because of the possible swelling of the eyes eye drops might be needed.

Returning to work usually after 10 days. After 2 weeks careful movements are allowed, but doing sport only after 3 weeks. Tanning and sunbathing are also forbidden, along with heavily seasoned or hot foods, and alcohol. Make-up, hair dye after three weeks. Tanning and sunbathing after 6-8 weeks.

Contrary to popular belief, facial expressions stays the same as it was before – and Face Lift does not require any change of lifestyle. Fully visible results of the surgery after two months, which ensures youthful appearance for long years, depending on age and individual predisposition.

The treatment of wrinkles is possible with different wrinkle filling materials or Botox treatment, which temporarily turns off the mimic muscle function. With combined operations an 8-10 years younger appearance can be achieved. This advantage is maintained over the long term.

Other Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

Unfortunately, the cosmetics industry offers only short-term methods for facial rejuvenation with moderate results.

This is why one disappointment leads to the other for the patients. Thermage, laser or filler material treatments may last for several years, but must be repeated, and do not produce the desired results in more advanced cases.

In spite of the increasingly modern technologies, the filling materials are absorbed over time. In most cases, Fat Grafting only gives perfect results combined with Face Lift.

Since large surfaces may mean more significant side effects with laser treatment, that is not an appropriate method for the entire face. There are huge differences between the desired outcome and the reality.

We use laser treatments in addition to plastic surgeries in our clinic. The best mode of application of the laser treatment is to combine it with Face Lift when only the mouth area is involved – for deeper perioral wrinkles can be treated effectively with laser technique. This perioral laser treatment is a gentle procedure, not harmful to health at all.

When treating a large surface area, Mini Face Lift is not an option either. In this case, skin tightening would be an alternative, which is performed in a much shorter period of time with often unnatural results.

Ask the plastic surgeon!

Dear Dr. Pataki,
Do you do permalip implants? How much do they cost?

dear Dr. Pataki, i contacted you some months back, i would like some minor lipo on the face, plus fat injections to the face area.

secondly. i had some lipo on my stomach area done a few years back by a discount service in poland. boy that was a mistake. they did something called "high definition" on my abs, and they not only did not complete the entire abs area, they didn't take even HALF the fat out, and now 2 years later, its still just looks worse, uneven and quite an odd shape it has given. plus i should have done my low back as well, maybe Dr. Pataki would help me with these areas.

1. what KIND of lipo do you use?
2. can you do micro lipo on the face for the jowl and under the neck areas?
3. for fat reinjection, i was thinking cheekbone increase, a small amount in the cheeks themselves, to fill gaps from ache and aging, as well as some under the eyebrows to lift the brows up a little, and some in the chin to help my profile. i don't expect MAJOR changes. it just needs a little here and there.
4. ive also considered a rhynoplasty, so if you want to give me a plan for that too, i will consider it (depending on the downtime)

attached are some photos as you had requested.

i won't be back in budapest until late october or early november. And, i might only be there for a few weeks, so we would need to schedule things around that time period.

please give me an idea on appointment availabilities.

thank you, Nadine

Dear Doctor Pataki,

Thank you for your answer.
I've now shortlisted a couple of praticians after a few checks, and have a few more questions before getting to my final decision.
- How many facial fat transfers have you performed? On males?
- do you centrifuge the fat?
- what quantity do you reinject per droplet?
- do you have any pictures of your work?
- Could you book an initial consultation for this procedure?
- Are you available in january for this procedure?

Thanks in advance for your answer,
Best regards,

Iliya S.

Dear Dr,

I'm a 31 y/o male who has lost a lot of volume in my face.

I'll be living in Budapest as of September, and look for a surgeon to perform either hyaluronic or i heard about autologous facial fat transfer too and i am more interested in it.
Do you perform both procedure? If yes, how do you perform it? Do you have pictures of patients 3/6 months postop? What is the different?
Thanks in advance for your answer. Christine

Hello dr. Pataki,

I have heard back form Manka, my friend and she is curious about what the Premium plastic surgery clinic suggested, the fat grafting. Please find her questions below:

Is it the same than fat injections ? How is that procedure? What area they take it from? What is the suggested recovery time?

I have notice that my upper lip is going downward. Could injecting a little bit of fat in my cheeks lift my smile?

Could I have this done this summer on it's own?

I thought to fill the lines on my forehead also, perhaps the same method would work?

And, could she have an appointment for the last week of July for a consultation?

thank you for your help!

Best regards,
Melanie
